Anthro-Inspired Hat

This is my third attempt to post this properly….

I made this hat for a baby shower that we recently held at church.  I made three hats, but this was the show-stopper.  I used baby weight yarn.  I made the body white, I used a different flower pattern and made it in lilac, but then I sewed a button in the center of my simple, one-layer flower.  It was a glass button that shimmered with green, pink and blue tones.  I wish I was smart enough to take a picture of the hats I made.  I told you, I’m new at this!

The crocheter’s blog site is pasted next to the picture.  She saw this hat in an Anthropologie store and said it retailed around $50!  Since I stopped shopping at malls after the birth of my first child – I had four more after him – I buy my yarn at Wal-Mart and try to make snazzy things that look expensive!

I hope you try it.  It’s beautiful when done.

Isn’t it? I think it looks better than the retailer’s!

Do you ever do socks? I used to knit but holding four needles just was a little more than I wanted to do!

No, no socks because I’m so intimidated by them! My next conquest will be knitting!
